How are my goods delivered ?
Method of delivery is dependent on the products ordered and your location in the UK.
We use 4 methods of delivery.
1) Delivery within and around London is usually done by London Beer Gas directly. You will be notified on what day your order will arrive. Delivery day is dependent on delivery postcode.
2) We use Royal Mail Recorded Delivery which will be delivered with your normal mail. A signature is required on delivery. This is used for smaller items for delivery UK wide.
3) We use a courier who delivers the day after dispatch, leaving a card if there is no-one in. They will require a signature on delivery unless instructed otherwise. It is therefore important to provide us with a manned address for delivery or specific instructions of where items should be left if no one is there. If London Beer Gas Ltd are asked to leave the goods in a designated place and no signature is gained, London Beer Gas Ltd is not liable for any products that are lost or stolen after this point. Party goods including disposable helium cylinders are usually dispatched by courier. Orders received before 12pm Monday to Thursday (except Bank Holidays) will normally be despatched on the same day for next day delivery.
4) We have certain goods dispatched direct from the manufacturer. For these items delivery is usually within 48hrs of receipt of order.
If you wish to guarantee next day delivery please contact us directly on 020 8807 4633 or 020 8453 0002.
If for any reason an item is out of stock or unavailable, we will notify you by phone or email, and give an estimate of the time delay. If you wish to cancel the order as a result, you are perfectly able to do so, but you must tell us within 24 hours of us contacting you.
Should your order be returned to us undelivered, we reserve the right to charge a redelivery fee for sending the goods out a second time.

Postage and Packing Charges
Our delivery / postage and packing charges work on a sliding scale, in an attempt to be fair to all. This scale is designed to work on approximate weight - the heavier an item or items are, the more it will cost for delivery. Our delivery charges range from £0.00 GBP to £45.00 GBP.
Some products have a fixed postage cost which will be added to the overall delivery cost. A product may have a fixed cost due to the size and weight of a product making it difficult to deliver.

Helium Cylinder Rental Info
How long can I keep the helium cylinder?
The disposable helium cylinders (Balloon Time) are yours to keep. We do not collect these cylinders.
You can keep the Helium (L range) cylinder for as long as you like. Rental of the cylinder is free for the first month. If you want to keep the helium (L range) cylinder for longer, there is a £2.94 per month cylinder rental charge.
How do I organise collection of the L range of helium cylinders ?
At time of order a collection date for the cylinder and inflator valve will be organised and rental charges will be calculated. Any cylinders that are unable to be collected or are not returned within the agreed period will incur a charge to cover the replacement of the cylinder and helium inflator valve.
|
Helium Inflator Valve Info
Do I get an inflator valve with my helium cylinder ?
The disposable cylinders come complete with an inflator valve. For the
L range helium helium cylinders you get an inflator valve free of charge
for the first week. If you wish to keep the valve for longer, there
is a £6 per week rental charge. If you anticipate needing it for
longer than 2-3 weeks, we recommend that you buy your own inflator valve.
See Helium page.
How do I attach the inflator valve to the “L” range of Helium cylinders ?
1. Rip off the plastic cap from cylinder valve.
2. Screw the balloon filling adaptor firmly onto cylinder valve outlet. The adaptor is designed to be screwed tight by hand.
3. Open the cylinder valve by turning the hand-operated valve slowly anticlockwise.
4. Put the neck of the balloon over the rubber nozzle, hold the balloon
firmly, gently bend the rubber nozzle downwards to inflate balloon and release when desired size reach.
5. Close the cylinder valve when balloon filling is completed by turning hand wheel clockwise. Then purge remaining pressure from the adaptor by bending rubber nozzle or pushing cone as stated above.
6. Unscrew the adaptor and return it with the cylinder.
N.B. If gas leaks from any part of equipment, do not attempt to rectify the fault, but inform London Beer Gas.

Disposable Helium Cylinders
What do I do with the empty disposable helium cylinder ?
Balloon Time tanks are fully recyclable. After removing the easy-fill nozzle from the empty cylinder, take the tank to your local council recycling centre or place with your household recycling. Instructions for preparing the cylinder for disposal or recycling are located on the Balloon Time package and helium tank
Can I get the disposable helium cylinder refilled?
Balloon Time tanks cannot be refilled. These tanks are designed to be non-refillable. This design provides consumers with the convenience of being lightweight and easy to handle. Do not attempt to refill. Attempting to refill can cause injury or death.
How do I use the disposable helium cylinder ?
1. Pull tear strip and flip open box top. FOR BEST RESULTS, FILL BALLOONS 1-2 HOURS PRIOR TO EVENT.
2. TURN GREEN HANDLE ANTI-CLOCKWISE TO OPEN VALVE.
3. Slip balloon neck onto black nozzle until neck fits tightly around nozzle.
4. Hold balloon neck firmly between thumb and forefinger at the widest part of the nozzle. Press nozzle down gently to inflate.
5. Fill balloon to desired size.
6. Release thumb pressure on nozzle to stop inflation.
7. Pinch balloon tightly at base of balloon neck and remove from nozzle.
8. To assure maximum float time, tie a TIGHT knot in the neck of the balloon and attach ribbon of desired length BELOW the knot.
9. When finished inflating balloon, close valve tightly by turning green handle clockwise, and store tank in the box. If no helium remains, see disposal instructions on back of package.

Cylinder Hire Charge
Do I need to pay an initial charge if I don't have a bottle to start with ?
Yes, you will need to pay a cylinder refill agreement charge which covers the cost and maintenance of the Calor cylinders.
What is the cost of the initial charge on a cylinder?
For most cylinders it is £29.99 (inc. VAT)
|
How can I monitor how much gas is left in a cylinder?
Calor’s 5kg and 13kg Patio Gas cylinders are fitted with Calor's new Gas Trac - an indicator which tells you when you are running low on gas. For all other cylinders, the empty tare weight can be found on a metal disc on the shroud, this gives the weight of the cylinder in pounds and ounces. To convert this to kilograms multiply this number by 0.453592. Once you have the empty weight of the cylinder you weigh the full cylinder on scales then take the empty tare cylinder weight off the total, this will give you how much gas you have left in the cylinder. The can be compared with the full cylinder, e.g. 13kg.
|
What is the empty weight of cylinders?
All bottles will vary depending on their size, etc. The weight written on the metal disc on the shroud is the weight of the empty cylinder.

How full is a Calor gas cylinder in a full condition, in percentage terms?
All cylinders are 80-87% full as space needs to be left for the expansion of liquid. The weight on the front of the cylinder is the total weight of gas in the bottle.
